LETTER OF THE DAY - Five-point plan to tackle violence in schools
THE EDITOR, Sir: Having worked as a social worker/counsellor outside of Jamaica, I have witnessed numerous cases of indiscipline and violence in schools and communities from students and parents. A multidisciplinary approach was adopted to manage various situations.

Zahra can do it!

THE EDITOR, Sir: Recently, Superior Parts offices and myself have been flooded with calls related to our sponsorship of Zahra Redwood in the Miss Jamaica Universe competition. It has been an interesting mix, mostly congratulatory, however some were not as encouraging.

Don't blame parents only

THE EDITOR, Sir: It is a known fact that children live what they learn. The living institution is not only made up of the classroom of the home, but many others.

Foolish response

THE EDITOR, Sir: I'm really horrified at the response of your columnist Rev. . Devon Dick (April 3) to the recent uniform debacle with the students who chose to break the school code and wear shoes of their own choosing. I'm really surprised that Rev. Dick seemed not to 'get it'.
