BOTH PORTMORE United and Boys' Town enter today's final of the All-Island Red Stripe Champions Cup Knockout competition confident of capturing the $650,000 cash prize at the Harbour View Mini-Stadium at 6:00 p.m.

Andrew Price, coach of Boys' Town, said there is a lot to play for and his team is confident and raring to go.

"This is the last opportunity for us to win a cup and that's one of our goals every year, to at least bring silverware down to Collie Smith Drive," Price said. "This is the final opportunity and we are going to give it our best shot."

Boys' Town, who have never won the All-Island knockout before reaching the final once, will have to be at their best if they intend to capture their first title.

Boys' Town will be hoping George Vernal and Denzil Watson pass late fitness tests to link with Michael Campbell, Fabian Watkins, Peter Keyes, Garfield Gillespie and Marvin Morgan.

Third consecutive final

Portmore United, winners in 2005, will be appearing in their third consecutive final and should start favourites having beaten Boys' Town twice this season.

Portmore's coach, Linval Dixon, said his team was bubbling with confidence in their bid to capture their second title in three years.

"This is a final and we are pretty much confident that we can pull it off," Dixon said. "We just have to stick to what we do best. It's a final and you can't predict anything but it depends on who wants it more on the day."

Portmore received a major setback when they lost Onandi Lowe and Mario Swaby with thigh strains. Lowe's absence could be crucial, especially since he has been banging in goals left, right and centre in this competition.

Portmore will have to look towards Anthony Modeste, Wolry Wolfe, Carlington Smith, Kevin Deerr, Chris Dawes, Adrian Reid and Anthony Bennett to provide the winning spark.

The Harbour View Mini-Stadium should also be buzzing with added excitement as Ity and Fancy Cat, Tony Matterhorn and Voicemail are down to perform at the venue.
