THE EDITOR, Sir:
IT WAS with great surprise that I read the commentary written by Ms. Dawn Ritch 'Bombastic Trinidadians' because for a long time, I thought that we here had the monopoly on foolish people, but I see that you to have your share.
From foolish politicians to commissioners of police to columnists, I thought that we got all, and now I see (to my amusement) you have your share. Trinidad is by no means the safest place on earth, but then, is Jamaica? I think not.
We all share the same problems of gang violence and drug trafficking and both our governments are having a hard time winning the wars against criminals, so my question: Why beat us up Ms. Ritch?
Exactly what is your grouse? We in Trinidad have little time to study your heartaches, miss. We are more interested in finding out the circumstance behind the death of the cricket coach than your bellyaching about our murder rate and a cement plant.
Dry your eyes, madam, and mind your country's business instead of trying to interfere and discredit my own.
I am, etc.,
A Bombastic Trini
