UTech students allowed to sit exams
published: Wednesday | April 11, 2007

The University of Technology (UTech) has decided to allow students with outstanding tuition fees to sit their semester two examinations subject to the presentation of a payment plan acceptable to the university.

The university, in a statement issued yesterday, stated that in an effort to facilitate these students, the administration has allowed the students to sit their upcoming exams.

All students with outstanding fees are required to apply in person to the Division of Finance and Business Services with a written payment plan for their outstanding fees. This should be done no later than Thursday, April 12, to allow for the collection of examination cards.

Facing a crisis

Meanwhile, several students at the university are now facing a crisis due to a multimillion-dollar fraud that led to the arrest of two students at the institution.

Police investigators say the fraud, which has been ongoing for two years, has resulted in the theft of $1.5 million so far from 15 students who are all now facing deregistration if their fees are not paid in full.
