This is the kite season and they are in full flight. At least 500 kites are expected to be soaring in the air today, as Mon Citizens' Association hosts 'Let It Fly Kiddies Kite Festival 2007'.

In its fifth year, 'Let It Fly', being held at the Mona Central Park in St. Andrew, is geared towards fostering parent-child bonding.

More than 700 kites will be on sale, an increase over the 500 that were available last year. Winsome Johns-Gayle, president of the association, said that families should turn out expecting a marvellous event.

"Clean family fun," said Mrs. Johns-Gayle.

Kites on sale will range in cost from $50 to $150.

Other than kites, the festival will feature a kiddies corner with games and attractions such as bounce-a-bout and kite-making and kite-flying contests. Refreshments will also be on sale.

Admission: adults $300, children $100.
