Two die in car chase
published: Saturday | April 14, 2007

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

Two men are now dead following a high-speed chase along a section of Highway 2000 in St. Catherine yesterday evening.

Last night, the men were identified as Steve Mullings and Nicholas Bailey, both in their early 20s, of Gregory Park and Christian Pen addresses.

Reports from the police are that, about 6:00 p.m., the men were seen driving a Nissan motor car when an attempt was made by police to stop them for a traffic violation. This resulted in a high-speed chase, during which the men lost control of the vehicle, knocking down a utility pole and crashing into a nearby ditch. Both occupants had to be cut from the wreckage.
