Dull draw at Barbican
published: Thursday | April 19, 2007

AUGUST TOWN and Tivoli Gardens played to a lacklustre 0-0 draw in their mid-table Wray and Nephew National Premier League game at Barbican playing field yesterday.

The draw means Tivoli (46 points) still lead August Town (41) by five points with three rounds to play.

August Town's coach, Hugh McCarthy, said his team turned up to play but he too described the day's game as "dead, dull, lacklustre.""It was lacklustre performance based on our style of play," McCarthy said.

Tivoli's coach, Calvert Fitzgerald, believes the poor playing conditions at Barbican affected his team.

"The Barbican field had a lot to do with our (poor) performance," he said. "However, coming here and getting a point, I cannot be too unhappy."
