Light winds force another yacht-racing setback
published: Thursday | April 19, 2007

VALENCIA, Spain (Reuters):

THE LOUIS Vuitton Cup was postponed again yesterday with light winds forcing officials to put away the start gun for the third consecutive day.

The America's Cup challengers were supposedto start the knockout rounds to great fanfare on Monday, but day after day the boats have taken to the water only to wait in vain for the breeze to build.

There were some exciting matches planned today with two of the favourites, BMW Oracle and Luna Rossa, due to go head-to-head and top ranked Team New Zealand drawn against home team Desafio Espanol.

With six matches missed so far, the first round robin of the LV Cup will stretch at least until Tuesday of next week, filling in reserve days. The race committee will try and start racing again today.
