LETTER OF THE DAY - Christian pretenders misleading the people
The Editor, Sir: As the political atmosphere heats up, there appears to be a religious element coming to the forefront that was never usually there - at least not as brazen as it is seen now. Mrs. Simpson Miller's constant reference to a mandate given from God is really worrying.
Calling Mr Wilson!
The Editor, Sir: I would be very grateful if you published this letter. I am desperate to contact Milton Wilson. Mr. Wilson came to Crofts Hill in Clarendon in the mid-sixties as an agricultural instructor. He was a graduate of the then Jamaica School of Agriculture.
Voting for the devil?
The Editor, Sir: I have just read Ken Jones' letter in today's Gleaner (April 17) and support the points he makes. I believe that it is a good thing for a political leader to have a spiritual or religious practice from which he or she gains strength and guidance.
Election cricket
The Editor, Sir: In true support of the game of cricket with the current ICC CWC 2007 going on, I think the two major political parties ought to have their top 14-member squad selected before the elections. When we think of unity, what better way we should do it than by using a sport?
