Serenity, rich ambience and a stunning view enveloped the precincts of the Negril Escape Resort, in Westmoreland, making it a great Sunday afternoon.

It was the inaugural staging of the Easter Hair and Wedding Show, put on by Fantasy Dream Weddings. The event lasted for about 11 hours and showcased an array of offerings to complement what coordinator Donna Peart said would be a complete wedding package.

The occasion was punctuated with fashion, glamour, modelling, excellent emceeing by Ocho Rios-based Seymour Green, who, along with singer A.J. Brown, later delivered remarkable performances to add flavour to the evening.

The Easter Hair and Wedding Show is the brainchild of well-known wedding and events planner, Donna Peart, who has also worked in the hospitality sector for over 20 years. The show was held in conjunction with the launch of Peart's Fantasy Dream Weddings - a new company established in Negril.

"We are trying to highlight Negril as a wedding destination. It already is, but is not receiving the kind of highlight it should, compared with other resort areas," said Peart. "There is a void to be filled, as more weddings are done in Negril than anywhere else. We want our tourists and locals to be aware that Negril is a wedding destination."

Peart said she intended to host the Easter Hair and Wedding Show annually, with the hope of making it bigger and better each year.
