With the Pick-9 a non-starter at Caymanas Park on Wednesday owing to eight races on the card, the popular exotic bet returns tomorrow with its $1 million minimum.

Last Saturday, the fancied horses (including five favourites) dominated the action and the Pick-9, surprisingly, was caught by only six punters, each receiving $166,000.

The Pick-9 embraces races two to 10 tomorrow, the Super-6 from race five to 10.

We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a $260,000 - $230,000 claiming race over the straight five course in which the fleet-footed HAFIFA should lead home RED I and the course specialist ROYAL MALICE, who is seemingly regaining form.

HAFIFA, who is best drawn at post position 11, finished five lengths sixth to FORMULA ONE over the course on a $380,00 claiming tag on April 9, a race in which she chased the winner for almost 800 metres. Now running on a $260,000 claiming tag, she should make no mistake.

Well prepared

Briefly, the sixth race over 1300 metres should resolve itself into a straight fight between the stable-companions QUEEN OF MY HEART, a recent winner, and AITCHEMESBEAGLE, both from the stables of champion trainer Wayne DaCosta. The pair report well prepared and it could go either way. But I have a slight preference for the 4-y-o gelding, AITCHEMESBEAGLE with Charles Hussey up.

MITAKA, who ran an improved race behind BELLAS GATE BOY last Saturday, gets the nod over LIGHT MY FIRE in the seventh for the Portmore Community Trophy, while the last three races should be won by classic aspirant RUN ALDEENO, LA REINA (working exceptionally well) and down-in-class ABOUNDING GRACEwho runs from a new barn in the Roderick 'Pilot' Francis Trophy race, having been claimed for $160,000 by trainer Neive Graham on March 24.

SELECTIONS

5) HAFIFA/RED I

6) AITCHEMESBEAGLE/QUEEN OF MY HEART

7) MITAKA/LIGHT MY FIRE

8) RUN ALDEENO

9) LA REINA/MUSICAL MAESTRO

10) ABOUNDING GRACE/ISLAND CIGAR/TYRONE SON
