Substitute Oneil 'Chippy' McDonald's second half brace led Portmore United to a 2-1 win over Seba United at the Ferdie Neita Park yesterday.

Calvert Louden netted Seba's consolation goal in stoppage time.

Portmore finished the season in second place behind champions Harbour View on 64 points, while Seba United were tenth on 33 points.

"Both teams tried and I am pleased to see what I saw with Seba today, their young players showed a lot of promise," Portmore United's technical director Horace Reid said. He added that it was difficult to motivate his team to play this match since they have already captured second spot in the league.

First touch goal

McDonald, a former national player, scored with his first touch of the match in the 66th minute of play. He pounced on a rebound and slotted past Neil Lynch in goal for Seba.

The goal was initially set up by defensive mid-fielder Rudolph Austin whose shot from about 40 yards was blocked by the Seba custodian and McDonald raced in to score. McDonald again showed good off the ball movement in time added on, slipping in his second goal past Seba's Lynch after a beautiful pass from Jermaine Richards played him through. Seba got their consolation goal via Louden who capitalised on a defensive lapse by Portmore.

Seba United Paraguay Coach, Davilo Barriga thought it was a good tactical game. "Seba United played well, we were beaten by an excellent Portmore team. Both teams played a good tactical game. Number 16 (Oneil McDonald) was fortunate to score with his first touch of the game," Barriga said, while adding that was the difference in the game.

He was, however, impressed with the way his three under-21 players performed and said it augurs well for the future.
