The Ministry of Health is warning consumers against relying solely on home health-care tests such as pregnancy and glucose, noting that these may give false results.This warning comes against the importation and use of various kits unapproved by the Ministry of Health.
To this end, the Health Ministry has advised consumers to report results obtained from all home health-care testing to their doctor as:
A negative result may occur even when a disease is present. Clinical symptoms of disease may be experience test results are negative.
A qualified laboratory should confirm a positive result. If the home health-care test is being used to monitor a disease, which has been diagnosed by your doctor, periodic testing should also be performed by a qualified laboratory to confirm results.
