Heavy rains this weekend
published: Wednesday | May 9, 2007

Eastern parishes should brace themselves for heavy rains and thunderstorms this weekend, according to the Meteorological Service of Jamaica.

The meteorological office has based its prediction on a surface trough which it says currently exists over the central Caribbean. The trough is expected to move west and influence weather conditions over Jamaica and its territorial waters beginning tomorrow.

Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution as strong gusty winds are likely in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms.
