Issues to mullat poll time
published: Monday | May 14, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

There is such a great disparity between the rich and the poor in Jamaica. The rich have no care but to get richer, whether by corrupt or illegal means and they are rarely exposed. Even when they are, they receive no punishment for the white collar crimes they commit. That is just one sore face of the People's National Party. What have the political leaders done for the last 18 years to get rid of corruption at the highest level?

Absolutely nothing!

On what basis then can one want to suffer under 'Sister P'? 'Sister P' has evidently hoodwinked many Jamaicans by claiming she is trying to balance your lives.

Shouldn't she be giving each person the opportunity to balance their own life by providing water in areas that have not seen running water for the last 20 years, creating jobs for the young so they will feel they have much to give back, providing the necessary equipment for a hospital like KPH to function at the optimal level for the poor, who go there more than the rich; not to mention crime which has escalated under the PNP leadership, and the list goes on.

Wake up Jamaica! These are the issues that affect you and me daily. These are the issues you need to consider when you go to the polls. Your option is to make sure if you are not getting what you so rightfully deserve to live reasonably well, then stop and think if you really want a change, or you want to remain in your suffering.

I am, etc.,
