The best of Leandro
published: Tuesday | May 22, 2007

Born 90 years ago yesterday, Urban S. Leandro used 48 of those years to produce some of the most witty and delightful social commentaries Jamaica has seen.

Throughout this week, The Gleaner will be looking at the best of what the man known as Leandro, had to say.

Today, we pay attention with particular interest to his views on male and female relationships in Jamaica, which for those who remember evoked much laughter, despite the seriousness of many of the comments.

Leandro was also serious about his country's politics and how it affected the people. That aspect of his cartoons can never be ignored either.
