Zahra in all her glory
published: Thursday | May 24, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WISH to congratulate all those who designed, dressed and especially the parents who nurtured our queen of beauty, Zahra Redwood. Her front page photograph in The Gleaner of May 21 enriched my day and that of all those who patiently awaited the moment when, out of many, a locked African-Jamaican would be sent to represent us.

Zahra is the black woman in all her glory. She has boosted the self-esteem of so many as she so accurately represents who we really are.

Her front page photograph depicts a woman of stunning beauty all over. In the hearts of so many, she is already a winner.

I am, etc.,

BERT SAMUELS
