Get rid ofthe British
published: Thursday | May 24, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I READ an article titled 'Britain still rules Jamaica' in your paper. I would like to say I agree 100 per cent with what Rev. Devon Dick said and hope that those who have the power should remove the British from Jamaica. They treat black people as second-class citizens, especially Jamaicans. They don't care if we live or die, so why bother with the Privy Council?

They had a march a few weeks ago to rid their country of all black people; England for the white race. It's embarrassing knowing in this day and age, we still allow this foolishness to carry on. It's long over due for those pale-face people to be shoved to one side and we, black Jamaicans, stand on our own two feet. We are more than great enough, and I mean great enough because when Jamaicans put their minds to something, that's it, no contest.

Get rid of the British, get rid of them, for over hundreds of years (and still to this day) they enslaved us and we are rewarding them by still having them as the head of our country. We have given them a licence to do and treat us any way they want.

Big respect to Rev. Devon Dick.

I am, etc.,

OUIDA SPENCER
