In search of disciplined men
published: Sunday | May 27, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IF THE recent comments attributed to Chris Gayle of the West lndies cricket team are correct, then he ought to reconsider his position. I can think of no profession or occupation where if you do not impose self-discipline - the over indulgence will impact on your performance. I don't believe that our indifferent performance over the years have been attributed solely to indifferent leadership/captaincy.

So Mr. Gayle, et al, if an 11.30 p.m. curfew is deemed too early to refrain from public socialising at night clubs, then I suggset you seek a vocation ASAP.

Afterall, this curfew is imposed to control 'boys' and not men and if Gayle and others were conducting themselves in such manner, the curfew would not be imposed. We need men who are proud to represent Jamaica and West Indies cricket. Nuff said.

I am, etc.,

HUGH MILLER
