Harmony, Duanvale to battle in Trelawny
published: Sunday | May 27, 2007

Richard Morais, Gleaner Writer

FALMOUTH, Trelawny:

HARMONY AND Duanvale will battle it out in the first-leg final of the Nationals Rums of Jamaica Trelawny Major League football competition at the Elleston Wakeland Centre in Falmouth at 3:30 p.m. today.

Harmony qualified by getting by Preston 6-4 on aggregate, including a penalty tiebreaker. Preston won the first game 2-0 and Harmony returned the favour in the second by the same margin to send the semi into the decisive penalty shootout.

Duanvale were more decisive in their qualification over Upsetters. They drew the first game 0-0 but came away 2-1 victors in the second.

Having been in the finals seven times in the past 10 years but never reaching the winners' enclosure, Duanvale's manager, Rawle Gentles, said: "This year we feel we can take it as the team is more united than ever and we are going to remain positive."He also said there were no major injuries and his team would be at full strength. Harmony's manager, Garnet Rodney, did not mince words. "We are going to win."

Rodney said his team was superior as it had Premier League pedigree and was a regular fixture in the Western Confederation. The date for the second leg has not been set.
