Batting for peace: a recurring decimal
The Editor, Sir: As appeared on the front page of The Gleaner 22/5/07 - 'Leaders bat for peace'. This is to me a recurring decimal. The statements announced by both political leaders are highly commendable, the embracing denotes a symbol of peace for the upcoming general election, but are the tongues bridled against unsavoury remarks...

The Editor, Sir: Richard Branson is now richer than the nation of Jamaica, I assume. But you don't necessarily need money to make money.
A really bad (Jamaican) road
The Editor, Sir: There are a number of bad roads in Jamaica, but few could be worse than the one in Johns Hall, Clarendon. This road links Silver Spring in the south, through McKoy to Aenon Town in the north.
