Red-hot defending champions Jamalco will seek to close out their best-of- three finals of the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Berger Paints Super League this evening, when they tackle Waulgrovians in game two at the National Arena starting at 5:00 p.m.
Jamalco lead the series 1-0 following their exciting 47-45 victory over their opponents in game one on Thursday.
Jamalco's coach Winston Nevers said he is confident that his team can finish off their opponents today.
"I am very confident that we are going to finish off things today because I don't want to go to a game three on Sunday. I know that the Waulgrovians team is a team that gets better game by game," said Nevers, whose team is seeking their fifth consecutive title.
High-class netball
Nevers added: "We are going out there today to play the game the same way how we have been playing throughout the season and that is high-class netball."
Simone Forbes, the captain of Waulgrovians, said her team has to sharpen-up their defence if they are going to beat their opponents.
"We are going to be looking first at how we can protect the ball against them (Jamalco) because that's one of the main reasons why we lost the game," said Forbes.
"Our plan now is to mainly win the ball from the mid-court because once they pass the ball properly to Romelda Aiken, there is no way we are going to be able to stop her, so we have to make sure that we win the ball from the centre court."
Jamalco will be hoping that their inspirational goal shooter Aiken can maintain her excellent scoring from game one, in which she scored 42 goals from 45 attempts.
Meanwhile, Waulgrovians will be looking to former national goal shooter, Carla Williams, who had a reasonable performance in game one when she netted 25 goals from 30 tries.
