Political adsI have read comments in the past about government ministries and agencies running full-page advertisements, promoting the work of the agency and usually the politicians involved with them.
Before the last election in 2002, there was a flood of such advertisements and I begin to note a revival. This is being done again in preparation for the next election due soon. My question is, why should the public purse be used to fund such advertisements when there are so many other critical issues that need funding, but no money to fund them?

Try Jamaica fareI am asking permission to publish this advice to the hotel industry and ministers of tourism. Americans, English, Canadians, etc., are all tourists when they come to visit our nation.
Now, how would you feel if you see an advertisement about beautiful Jamaica, spend a lot of money to come to Jamaica and when you are in Jamaica, you are wondering if you are still at home? What I'm saying is: Jamaica is Jamaica and America is America; you can't use the American culture to impress Americans in Jamaica! You can't give pizza to an American and expect him or her to be surprised, but if you give him or her a piece of yam and some guineps, you'll have him or her in awe. So please, try something different, try something JAMAICAN and be Jamaica.

Heritage queryI recently discovered that my ancestors are from the West Indies, or rather more specific, Turks and Caicos Islands. I live in America and never had this knowledge until an aunt passed away and pictures were found dated back to the 1890s.
I always had a feeling that I was from the islands because the water in the Caribbean is healing to me, and I am so drawn to it. I want to purchase a property there and want to know how to go about establishing my heritage and citizenship. Can anyone offer some suggestions?

Political labellingIntelligent people select a politician based on his/her integrity, personality and qualification. Being intelligent is the ability to analyse the performance of politicians or political parties and sending a message (vote) of agreement or disagreement.
If a politician disagrees with the ideals of the party he supports, he should be able of leave and feel free to come back when the issue is resolved. The people seem to want a departure of political tribalism. This isthe only example in your system of any politician who does not practise political tribalism and he is labelled a 'flip-flopper'. You are a confusing set of people who do not know what you really want.
