PM should 'kibba har mouth' at times
published: Wednesday | June 6, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am a People's National Party (PNP) supporter to the bone, but I am also an intelligent person who, unlike many other Jamaican citizens, is able to think for myself.

To be honest, when the party was selecting a new president a couple of months ago, I was not initially in support of our now party leader and Prime Minister.

Nevertheless, I joined her side because she was being given such a hard time and I thought that if given the chance, she would show everyone 'the strength of a woman'. What a mistake to make in Jamdown!

Instead of stepping up to the plate and proving her ability to lead, I think the honourable Prime Minister has spent more time showing her ability to tongue-lash everyone who crosses her path, even if they are just doing their job.

Whenever I turn on the news and Mrs. PM comes on, I literally hold my breath bracing myself for another embarrassing blow to the party and the female gender.

Considering the recent silly accusations she made on the media. I just had to step up and beg her to let us hold on to whatever shred of dignity we have left.

I still think Mrs. PM can make a good leader; she just needs to 'kibba har mouth' sometimes.

My beloved honourable Prime Minister, you are already loved and respected. You really don't need to take on everyone that speaks against you to prove your 'strength'.

Please let some things slide and allow people, like journalists and cartoonists, to do their jobs.

I am, etc.,

K. HENRY
