The Editor, Sir:I am writing to alert the People's National Party (PNP) of the modern phenomenon called the email lobby - even as I thank them for bringing the technology to a very large number of ordinary Jamaicans.
Women across the island (over all 60 constituencies) - many of whom are voters - have started to take the time out of our real-life world and schedules to comment on the Alice in Wonderland (or Lisa in South East St. Ann) mistake.
In summary, it does not sit well with us. There are three major reasons that I list on behalf of the 'Real Women Internet Lobby':
We reject the trophy-wife syndrome.
We reject the disrespect of the women of Jamaica by the imposition of Lisa Hanna on our consciousness.
We question her competence to provide representation to anyone on any real issue such as those of rural Jamaica and rural Jamaican women.
In closing, we thought it was Air Jamaica and not the PNP that has-been beauty queens went off to -- shall I say - serve. Madam Prime Minister, this Lisa Hanna Mistake may cost you more than you are prepared to lose - that being the support of Jamaican women.
I am, etc.,
