THE EDITOR, Sir:

The uproar over the candidate for the South East St. Ann seat to me is a sure waste of time. They have nominated four candidates, one of whom, the lone female contender, is the favourite.

Now if the people believe this candidate will represent them well, why waste more time - let her be the candidate.

How is it that you are going to put someone to represent an area in which she, I would assume, knows very little or nothing about? The people need someone who is aware of their situation and will represent them well.

That is why we find so many MPs in trouble with their constituency, because they are not aware of the situation of the people and as such fail to represent them well.
