Grand Lido are 'Super' champions

GRAND LIDO Braco dominated the 2007 renewal of the Super-Clubs Sports competitions - titled SuperClubs SuperOlympics - which ended with track and field action at the hotel, on Thursday.

The Trelawny-based hotel pocketed 304 points to beat closest rivals Breezes Runaway Bay (237.5). Breezes Montego Bay finished third with 227.5 points and were followed by Hedonism III (208), Grand Lido Negril (187), Hedon-ism II (179), Star Fish Trelawny (168) and Village Resorts Limited (VRL) (118) .

Earlier in the week, competitors took part in netball, domino, bed making and beach volleyball and a Watersports Regatta.

Grand Lido Braco won the netball competition after winning all seven matches to finish ahead of Grand Lido Negril, whose only defeat was at the hands of the champions.

Grand Lido Braco also took home the domino title, beating Star Fish 30-18 while the beach volleyball crown went to Breezes Montego Bay, who defeated Hedonism III 3-0.

On Thursday's final day, Grand Lido Braco went further ahead by demonstrating their superiority at the track and field competition.

In the managers' 100m races, Patrick Bryan and Velicea Baugh won their respective events.

In the relays, Grand Lido Braco won the managers' sprint relay, the female sprint relay, the female and male 4x200m and the men's 4x400m open.
