FORMER west indies Under-19 representative, Andre McCarty, slammed 127 not out to put Melbourne in a strong position on day one of their sixth round Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Super Cup game against Manchester at Kirkvine Oval yesterday.

Melbourne reached 243 for six when rained stopped play. McCarty received good support from teammates Roy Stewart, 25, and Xaiver Chevis, 23. Maurice Hutchinson (3-57) and Neive McNally (2-63) were the main wicket-takers for Manchester.

AT MELBOURNE OVAL: St. Elizabeth were on the verge of taking first-innings points over Trelawny. Replying to 168 made by Trelawny, St. Elizabeth reached 112 for four when bad light stopped play. Davian Davidson was the top scorer for St. Elizabeth to date, with 53.

AT SABINA PARK: The game between defending champions St. Catherine and hosts Kingston was nicely poised with Kingston on 112 for four when bad light stopped play. Earlier, St. Catherine were bowled out for 206 with national player Odean Brown making 63, while Jowayne Robinson (4-51) and Kerry Scott (3-52) were the pick of the bowlers.

AT UP PARK CAMP: Lucas will resume today on 311 for nine against the hosts after rain ended the game with an hour's play remaining.

Former national player Delroy Morgan will resume batting on 97. Kamal Dennis (5-65) and Fabian Anderson (2-65) were the leading wicket-takers for JDF.

AT ALLAN RAE OVAL: Westmoreland reached 228 for eight in their game against Kensington when bad light stopped play. Dwayne Ewart (45) and Derval Green (47) led the way for Westmoreland. Peter Colquhoun claimed 3-45 for Kensington.
