Expect rain pain again
published: Monday | June 11, 2007

The Meteorological Service says there could be more moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms, especially over central and eastern parishes today.

According to the Met Service, a surface to upper-level trough and a tropical wave are currently moving across the western Caribbean.

The Met office says the system has created an area of disturbed weather that moved north-eastwards across Jamaica yesterday, resulting in cloudy conditions and showers.

While the area of disturbed weather is forecast to continue moving north-eastwards, the trough is to remain in the vicinity of the island for the next 36 hours.

Fishers and other marine interests should exercise caution due to expected deteriorating sea conditions and strong winds in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms, especially along inshore and offshore areas of the south coast.
