NOTE-WORTHY: Cruelty to animals
published: Thursday | June 14, 2007

Cruelty to animals

I am writing to complain about the animals being treated cruelly. Our animals are horribly treated, they are beaten, cut up, given little food and water, and being kept locked up in a small cage all day. When animals get old and lazy, people neglect them.

The J.S.P.C.A. helps neglected, sick and healthy animals. I volunteer there because I love all animals. There is a law that animals are not to be treated cruelly, but obviously some people don't care to follow that rule. How would people feel if they were cruelly treated like an animal? That's my question.

Those Air Jamaica gates

I am not in support of selling the Air Jamaica gates in London. However Mr. W. Taylor should note that Virgin Atlantic is owned by the very successful Richard Bronson, which is not in any way hurry-come-up.

Relatives

I am looking for my relatives living in Manchester on my father's side of the family. I only went there once with an uncle of mine who is now dead. His name was George Walters and he worked for Alpha Boys' home for many years before he died in 2000.

I can also remember one relative was working at Mandeville Police station in 1990. I think the district was called Walters Town or District. Two girls from the family were selling in Coronation Market. That is as much as I can remember. So if there is anything you can do to help me find these relatives, I would be grateful.

Dictatorship

I am concerned that Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller in true dictatorship form, has imposed Lisa Hanna on the people of St. Ann. She needs to put her ego and bullying attitude to the side, become realistic and see that this is not a Miss World contest. What has Lisa done to earn her nomination for this position?

Political votes should be earned and not taken for granted. Portia Simpson Miller needs to see that is not a popularity contest and her choice affects real people with real life issues. Portia needs to come off her high horse and stop getting her views 'twisted'.
