The Editor, Sir:
I read the Contractor General's report and I am shocked at his findings, but not surprised. Jamaicans, I urge you all to get up off your rumps and hold your leaders accountable for their actions. Our country is in a massive mess, our taxes are being used to make a small number of people fat and the masses suffer, due to the high cost of living that now exists there.
I now live in a society that when I pay my taxes I get services for them, and I think Jamaicans should start demanding services for the high amount of taxes that they pay. The corruption that exists in our government is so bad and has led us to where we are today, where every sector of government is in a mess and there is no sign of it getting any better.
There is this burning question that I would like to ask the Government: You have been in power for the past 18 years and you have not improved the life of the Jamaican people. Now you are seeking a fifth term in office, can any of you in government tell the Jamaican people why your administration should be given a chance to further ruin this country more than what you have done? I hope someone will answer this question!
Jamaicans, all of us need to demand accountablity from our leaders and stop taking what they are giving, which is absolutely no leadership, but massive corruption. Walk good.
I am, etc.,
