A 15-year-old boy who was fatally shot in a confrontation with police in Farm Heights, St. James, on Wednesday night, has been identified as the brother of the slain Stone Crusher gang leader, Rohan 'Don' Gordon.

The dead teenager, Jermaine Gordon, was reportedly identified as one of four men who robbed a man of his motor car and cellular phone at gunpoint in Dunbar about 11:20 that same night.

Placed on alert

"The police were placed on alert following the robbery, and about 11:35 p.m. the car was seen carrying four men in the Farm Heights area," said Corporal Peter Salkey, Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for St. James.

"Officers intercepted the vehicle and the men came out of the vehicle firing shots in their direction. The gunfire was returned, and the men ran in different directions."

Further reports are that shortly after 6:00 a.m. yesterday, Jermaine Gordon's body was found along Seventh Street in Farm Heights with multiple gunshot wounds. He was also wearing a ski mask.

The police say that the stolen cellphone was also recovered from his person.

His brother, 26-year-old Rohan Gordon, was cut down on May 20 in a running gun battle with the police in Norwood, St. James. His body is to be interred at Dovecot, St. James, this Sunday.

The gangster topped the St. James police most wanted list last year after he featured prominently as the leader of the notorious Stone Crusher gang. The criminal group has been fingered in dozens of murders, and several daring gun attacks in the Norwood, Glendevon and Salt Spring areas.
