Fugitive extradited
published: Saturday | June 23, 2007

A fugitive, on the run from murder charges, was on Thursday extradited to the United States.

Robert Smith was wanted on a 2003 homicide warrant in Broward County, Florida, and was believed to have been living in the Nannyville Gardens area of Kingston.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) located Mr. Smith in coordinated efforts with the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Jamaica field office.

He recently withdrew his appeal against extradition following his arrest on March 12, 2004.
