After yesterday's test run on the Dyno, Peter Rae's RX7 Mazda is ready to do battle with the Mitsubishi Evolution cars of Team MoBay at the Cable and Wireless circuit racing showdown tomorrow at the Dover raceway inSt. Ann.

The 10-race card is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., following the qualifying session.

Ready to roll

"I am ready to roll," said Rae, who has secured sponsorship from New York Brake Company, Auto Don and Liberty Auto Sales.

Backed by the hundreds of die-hard motorsport fans out of western Jamaica, Team MoBay, which comprise Doug and Matthew Gore, Gary Williams and Guy Fraser, are hungry for action.

They were the ones who dominated the rain-affected meet in April.

"Rain or sunshine, we are ready," said a tough-talking Doug Gore.

The last time they met, the veteran Peter 'Bull' Thompson had a hard time managing Doug Gore in the rain.

Additionally, car No.111, the blue and white RX7 Mazda which belongs to the 52-year-old 'Bull' Thompson, is now equipped with a brand-new turbo engine, boosting more than 350 horsepower.

The pulse is racing and the fans are looking forward to the grand showdown between the Gores and Thompson and whoever dominates is likely to wear the crown for 2007.

Doubtful starter

Meanwhile, former Caribbean champion driver, David Summer-bell, looks a doubtful starter. Up to yesterday, he was unsure whether he was going ready for this meet.

His Mitsubishi Evolution car was prepared by Doug Gore's mechanic. It was sent up from MoBay Thursday afternoon.

"Summerbell's car is in good condition," said a smiling Gore.

The IP 45 Class is expected to provide a lot of excitement to thrill the fans. Among other drivers, the attention will focus on Mike Causewell, Chris McFarlane and Pinky McGann, should he compete.

But the man who has the potential to upset the applecart is Marck Carey, who is a pilot by profession.

He had mechanical problems at the last meet but reports are that the car has been prepared and he is ready.
