THREE NATIONAL junior record holders, Yohan Blake, Keiron Stewart and Raymond Brown, have been included in Jamaica's squad for next week's Pan American Junior Championships in Fortaleza, Brazil. The impressive Blake, who ran 10.11 seconds for the 100m record at the Carifta Games, is said to have recovered after suffering from cramps in his right hamstring at last weekend's National Championships.
This meet could be considered Blake's real test as he had earlier made it clear that, with the help of the Americans to push him, he will be gunning for the World Junior record of 10.01, held by Trinidad and Tobago's Darrell Brown.
Stewart, who ran 13.49 to lower his previous national junior record which earned silver at the Carifta Games, and Raymond Brown, who threw 18.57 metres for the shot put record at National Championships last week, will be tested against strong Pan-Am teams the United States and Cuba.
Schillonie Calvert, a bronze medallist from the 2005 World Youth Championships, Samantha Henry and Bobby-Gaye Wilkins will lead the girls' team.
