Marriage - a book of which the first chapter is written in poetry and the remaining chapters written in prose. - Beverly Nichols

It is a love story that began 15 years ago. Then, it was a one-sided love. Later in 2005, sparks flew and love wasignited.

That love between Kerrian Foster and Christopher McGrath has grown into the type you can spot a mile off.

But marriage became sure when Kerrian won The Gleaner's "Will you marry me?" competition held in February, with a poem that captured the hearts of the judges.

The poetic proposal sealed the love between the two forever.

Before God, parents and friends, the two pledged their lives to each other on June 27, at the All Saints Anglican Church.

Like most weddings, theirs got off to a late start, but by the look on Christopher's face when he finally saw his bride, it was worth the one hour wait.

Kerrian, escorted by her mother Ivalyn Duncan, took Christopher's arm at 11:07 a.m. and at 11:35 a.m., the Rev'd. Fr. Abner L. Powell presented them to the congregation as Mr. and Mrs. Christopher McGrath.

All smiles

Christopher and Kerrian are focused as they get ready to cut their wedding cake.

The couple was all smiles as they held their five-month-old daughter Kerriss.

Asked how they felt after tying the knot, Christopher responded, "Just the same, nothing has changed except that we've signed the documents. We have just made our love more official by law."

"We're so happy," Kerrian added.

After a photography session at Emancipation Park in New Kingston, the couple headed to their Washington Gardens home for the reception.

Master of ceremonies, Andrea Ross, had guests in stitches with her wedding humour.

The cake cutting was a very exciting moment, as the couple bird-fed each other, much to the delight of family and friends, who kept knocking their glasses for the couple to kiss.

Later, Kerrian recited her winning entry to her husband, and he again responded in the affirmative.

Striving for excellence

Toasting the couple, family friend Mrs. McLean described Kerrian as a "brave, bold, beautiful, and ambitious person. Kerry is alwaysstriving for excellence."

She encouraged Kerrian to take care of her husband, and demand that he take care of her, and to put God first.

Soon thereafter, the couple danced to their favourite song, Since I met you Baby.

As they danced and kissed, Christopher's mom, Mrs. McGrath, exclaimed, "Look weh mi live fi come si, mi one son married."

Replying to the toasts, Christopher thanked all who assisted them to make the day a success.

The couple honeymooned at Grand Lido Braco.

The competition was sponsored by: Mall and Tropical Jewellers, SuperClubs Grand Lido Braco and Lascelles Wines and Spirits.
