Ageing is inevitable and there is little that can be done naturally to prevent it but whether a woman is in her 20s or 60s, the most important thing is to keep the skin healthy.

"Your diet has a lot to do with it," said make-up artist and massage therapist Paul March. While a beautiful glow comes naturally to some, a healthy diet can replicate that in most people and sufficient water should be a major part of that diet.

He recommended women keep it simple. Applying sun block and moisturiser is essential to keeping the skin supple and healthy.

This, however, does not mean a woman has to shy away from make-up; she just has to ensure the products are of a good quality.

"Nothing too greasy or it will clog your pores," he added. "Keep it as natural as possible, people should see you before your make-up." Brown and gold tones can do the trick, he pointed out.

Mr. March cautioned against excessive waxing of the eyebrows. He recommended either tweezing or threading instead, as prolonged waxing of the brows can cause damage to that area and premature wrinkling.

Flair also spoke with three ladies - Tami Chyn, Temoy White and Paulette Henry - who let us in on their personal secrets on looking good.

Singer, Tami Chyn, 24, said she lives by the rule of removing all make-up before going to bed. When she is on stage, she uses a lot of make-up so it is even more important she remove it with a make-up remover and face wash and and finish off with a moisturiser with sun block.

Easy on the make-up

Off stage, she said she takes it easy on the make-up. "I'll put on a little blush and a little mascara."

Paulette Henry, 59, a phone card distribution manager, cleanses her face twice daily with face wash with acne medication, as even when you get older pimples do pop up. She also uses an astringent and an eye cream for the upper and lower lids.

Once per month she gets a professional body scrub and applies an at-home facial mask which is specially formulated for her.

She attested to the benefits of drinking water as she consumes three small bottles per day and it reflects in her skin.

She uses a foundation which is also specially formulated for her.

Regular exercise is also very important to her as she walks up and down a hill and does approximately an hour at the gym four days per week.

Sports producer Temoy White, 23, has no particular beauty regimen. "I am a soap and water kind of person," she told Flair. However, she does ensure that she gets a lot of rest.

Eating lots of fruits and vegetables is very important to Temoy and she consumes them regularly. "Sweets are a no-no and I drink a lot of water," Ms. White added.

She also tries to squeeze in exercise three times per week.
