Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) to fix firebombed house in 'St Bess'
published: Monday | July 2, 2007

WESTERN BUREAU:

Opposition Leader Bruce Golding has instructed that rebuilding work start today on a shop gutted by fire in Bull Savannah, St. Elizabeth, last Wednesday night.

The shop was doused with gasolene and firebombed after the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) meeting there. One woman was hospitalised after the fire.

Addressing a large gathering at a mass rally at Lacovia Square in the parish on Friday, Golding indicated that it was his responsibility to assist any JLP supporter who had been wronged.

"I owe a duty to anybody who is subjected to that kind of persecution because they dare to stand up for the JLP," he said.
