BLAIR At least three complaints of breaches of the Political Code of Conduct are reported daily to the office of the Political Ombudsman.
Speaking with The Gleaner on Monday, the Political Ombudsman, Bishop Herro Blair, said the reports range from the defacing of billboards to the behaviour of supporters during political motorcades.
On Monday morning Bishop Blair received a report from the police of orange and yellow flags being mounted onstreet poles throughout Bull Bay, St. Andrew and along Windward Road in east Kingston.
The Ombudsman said that his office would try to get in touch with the respective candidates of the area.
"We are insisting to the candidates that as soon as the motor-cades move on, to have their political objects removed," Bishop Blair said.
More reports
However, the Ombudsman noted that in comparison to the period leading up to the general election of 2002, there were more reports of breaches of the Code than have been reported to date.
"It is not at a point for us to be alarmed about ," Bishop Blair stressed. He said his office took all breaches of the code seriously.
