EDITORIAL - Why this fuss over health-insurance scheme?
Our curiosity is naturally aroused when people wage major battles in protection or defence of particular programmes or policies, such as is currently the case with the scrap by trade unions to maintain Blue Cross' management of the health-insurance scheme for public sector employees.

Building without a plan

In another three years, over 17,000 new home owners should be receiving the keys to their new abodes - the nation's key housing agency, the National Housing Trust (NHT) having promised to deliver 11,175 new housing solutions at a cost of $17 billion, while another 6,184 solutions will be pursued at a further cost of $3.8 billion. 'Babsy' for Governor-General ?

Many people call an election period 'the silly season'. That's the last thing it should be termed. The general reason is that, during the run-up to a presidential or general election, politicians can be counted on to do things which look very silly indeed. (Ritch)
