Paulwell under pressure to resign
Opposition Spokesman on Energy and Telecommunications, Clive Mullings, is pressing for the resignation of the minister with responsibility for Technology, Phillip Paulwell, in the wake of what he described as an incestuous relationship in the granting of a telecoms licence to Solutrea Jamaica Ltd., and the subsequent failure by the company to pay over sums for the licence.

IDT hands down judgement in nine-month dispute

The Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT), after nine months of hearings into the dismissal of a worker at Jamaica Pre-Mix Limited last year, has ordered the company to reinstate the employee with pay effective July 27, 2006 to July 31, 2007.
