Fire victim ignored
published: Tuesday | July 17, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am convinced that the Ministry of Labour and Social Security doesn't give a damn about my plight. It's almost a year since my house was burnt down and I haven't received those promised funds I should have got, and even a couple months well after the incident, I wrote an article in the newspaper about my plight and still there was nothing forthcoming to me.

I went down there lately and the lady at the front told me that cheques have come down for fire victims, but my name wasn't on the list. I wonder and ponder if any "will or ever" come down for me, or probably I am different from the others who have received their funds.

I am, etc.,

PHILLIP LAWRENCE
