The island's Jehovah's Witnesses will be holding two three-day conventions between July 27 and August 5, at which they will be hoping to draw support from residents from across the island."Witnesses hope you will come along with them to attend the 2007 'Follow the Christ!' District Convention being held at Sabina Park beginning Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 29 and Friday, August 3 to Sunday, August 5. Sessions begin at 9:30 a.m. each day," the Jehovah's Witnesses Office of Public Information said in a statement recently. "Admission to the convention is free, and no collections will be taken."
According to the statement, the 21 local Witness congregations will be "giving energetic support to this united global advertising activity for convention programmes that will be held over the course of the next few months in over 150 lands."
The release said: "The Witnesses hope for an even greater attendance this year since the programme will be devoted to examining what the Bible really teaches about Jesus and what Scriptural basis there is for determining who are true Christians today."
There are close to 100,000 congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses throughout the world.
