In Wednesday's trading session the following reflect the movement of the JSE Indices: - The JSE Index declined by 610.04 points (0.67%) to close at 89,985.35 points. The JSE All Jamaican Composite Index declined by 1,224.20 points (1.34%) to close at 89,745.86 points and the Jamaica Select Index declined by 40.38 points (1.63%) to close at 2,422.95 points.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 26 stocks of which 6 advanced, 13 declined and 7 traded firm.
Market volume amounted to 1,244,035 units valued at over $13.53 million. GLEANER was the volume leader with 337,300 units (27.11%) followed by MAYBERRY INVESTMENTS with 271,219 units (21.80%) and NATIONAL COMM. BANK with 153,794 units (12.36%).
The trading of NCB Capital Markets Limited Rights Issue closed today, July 18, 2007 and the units traded today amounted to 3,975,838 units valued at $63,286.76.
The Board of Directors of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited has scheduled a meeting for Thursday, July 26, 2007 to consider a dividend payment.
The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited has advised that Mr. Dudley E. Walters has been appointed District Vice President effective August 2, 2007 and Mr. Egerton Anderson has retired effective July 31, 2007.
Jamaica Producers Group Limited (JP) has advised that consequent upon the retirement, from the Company, of Mr. Kermitt McGann with effect from June 30, 2007, the Board of JP has appointed Mr. Paul St. E. Samuels to the office of Company Secretary. Mr. Samuels will perform this function in addition to his current role as Group Financial Controller.
