JAMAICA will be hoping to get full points this time when they take on the Leeward Islands their their TCL Group-sponsored West Indies Cricket Challenge second round encounter at Warner Park tomorrow.

The Jamaicans just missed out on securing maximum points for an outright victory, only to be denied by Trinidad and Tobago's last wicket pair, which foughtgallantly to secure a draw in their first round match that ended on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Barbados, seeking their second championship title since the inception of the TCL Group-sponsored West Indies Cricket Challenge five years ago, will start favourites in their second round encounter against Trinidad and Tobago at Canaree today.

Led by senior team all-rounder Shamarh Brooks, Barbados eked out a five-wicket win against the Windward Islands at Warner Park in the last round to install themselves as early front runners. It was the only win in the opening round which finished Thursday.

Trinidad & Tobago, who barely survived against Jamaica in the last round to come away with a draw, will be looking to steady themselves and grab all-important points after their early stutter.

Full points

"Definitely, we are going for full points against Barbados. We must win outright if we are to stay in line for championship honours," manager Narsingh Rambaran said.

At Cayon ground:

Defending champions Guyana will be searching for more consistency when they face the Windward Islands in the second round today.

Guyana took first innings points from their opening round encounter with the Leewards Islands this week, but struggled on the final day after having their opponents on their knees over the first two days.

The Windwards, meanwhile, went down to Barbados by five wickets to fall behind in the tournament early and will need a much improved showing.
