Nineties music junkies had their fill at Heineken Yesterday held at Mas Camp in New Kingston on Saturday.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., scores of patrons streamed in the venue that was almost empty 30 minutes prior. It was also a night of high fashion and the ladies, adorned in the latest items to hit store racks, stuck to the bright colours of summer.

"Everybody start dance now, mi ago build a likkle vibes," the DJ announced.

True to his words, the tempo picked up with familiar tunes such as How It Ago Guh, Sycamore Tree, Living Dangerously, Go-Go Wine and more.

The party then took on the some of the hip-hop hits that were popular in the '90s. That did not last long as the "lean with it, rock with it" type music is not what comes naturally to Jamaicans, who are more accustomed to music to which threy can "bubble".

"Every man grab a girl and start wine pan har, it going to get crazy in here," the DJ said.

Fuel to the fire

Once again, they were sold on the idea.

Adding fuel to the fire, the selector started to play calypso/soca music. The ladies got on bad and the men willingly accommodated them.

Patrons to the back of the venue were probably oblivious to the real depth of the party which was reaching its climax in the middle of the venue.

At about 3 a.m., Mas Camp was still packed. Going up to about 4 a.m., some patrons were notably leaving the venue. Did it cut down on the fun? Not one bit. It only gave others more room to move.

Earlier in the night, the DJ dropped Erup's Gal A Run Dem Head and the place erupted, but did not distract from the party's theme. It ended close to 6 a.m.
