Five claimed

HEZA RANKING, who romped the fourth race over 1800 metres at Caymanas Park on Saturday, was among five horses claimed on the nine-race programme.

As many as 17 claims (two void) were submitted for the five-year-old gelding who was taken from trainer Robert Darby Sr. for $260,000 by trainer Desmond Shand on behalf of Robert Byers.

The second horse claimed in this race was the beaten favourite UNIQUE SELECTION, also for $260,000 by trainer Tyrone Prince on behalf of L.O.N.E.

The final three claims came in the closing straight-five race for the Drumbeat Trophy, won by the 19-1 outsider LA RUDE. The runner-up MOST WANTED was claimed for $170,000 by trainer Albert Chong on behalf of George P, ARCHANGEL for $170,000 by Tyrone Prince for himself and COCK ROBIN for $170,000 by trainer Enos Brown on behalf of Theodore Thompson.
