ZURICH, Switzerland (AP)The under-20 World Cup in Canada passed off without a single positive doping test, FIFA said yesterday.
World football's governing body said two players from each team were required to provide urine samples after each of the 52 matches during the June 30-July 22 tournament. None of the samples came back positive.
Cooperation
"The cooperation of the players and the team officials has been excellent," said Rudy Gittens, a member of FIFA's medical committee.
FIFA said it has tested 4,183 samples during its competitions since 1994, detecting four doping cases in total. Argentina won the under-20 tournament.
