THE EDITOR, Sir:It is heart wrenching to see the PNP take blows upon blows without responding. It is even more shameful that they leave Minister Paulwell to be abused by the JLP without boasting about his achievements.
By all accounts, any analysis done on the PNP administration over the last 10 years will reveal that Minister Paulwell's ministry is by far the most successful of all the ministries. Under his direction, industries have been created - cellular, cable, Internet. New energy initiatives - ethanol, oil exploration, solar expansions are coming on stream. Even the housing industry is set to benefit through the expansion of the cement company.
Many jobs were created within this sector. Yet small minds who cannot see the big picture or continue to play politics with people's lives, continue to harp on a few failed companies.
Some of these persons' businesses are bankrupt due to their own incompetence. Industries have been created! A few failed businesses are inevitable.
JLP's plan for technology
The idea for the Technology Fund is brilliant. The JLP cannotwait to get their hands on this money. In fact, when you listen to Bruce Golding's plans for technology in education, they are the same plans that are currently being implemented by the Paulwell ministry. If Golding presented the JLP manifesto in an academic institution, he would have been expelled for plagiarising the work of the PNP.
As for the Shadow Minister Clive Mullings, he has been running around and talking about what went wrong. I am sure that he would never make those mistakes. The fact of the matter is for Mr. Mullings to make those mistakes, he would first need the vision to create the industries first.
I guarantee you that such creativity eludes him. I hope the Jamaican people are not taken in by people who keep talking about what's wrong. It was Dale Carnegie who said "any fool can criticise, condemn, and complain - and most fools do".
When one looks at the JLP team, with the so-called driver, one wonders if he is driving a kindergarten bus. These babies that are Golding's lieutenants have no experience in running anything at all. Running a country is a very serious and difficult business. If these boys ever get into Parliament, we will need to change Gordon House to Dolly House and may God help us.
I am, etc.,
