Woman killed, four injured on Slipe Pen Road
published: Saturday | August 4, 2007

One person was killed and four others injured during a shooting incident on Slipe Pen Road in Kingston yesterday afternoon.

According to reports from the police, several men were travelling in a Toyota motor car along Slipe Pen Road about 1:00 p.m. yesterday. The Toyota bumped into a Mazda motor car and, when the driver of the Mazda stopped, the men opened fire on the vehicle.

When the shooting was over, the two occupants of the Mazda had been shot along with three pedestrians, including a 14-year-old child, who were sheltering from the rain outside a nearby store.

They were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where a 45-year-old woman identified only as 'Bibsy' was pronounced dead.

The police have confirmed that a female occupant of the vehicle, who sustained injuries, is the daughter of Citigroup executive Peter Moses.

The injuries to the four were not believed to be life threatening. The police are investigating the incident.
